RP BULK Haulage Falls Into Liquidation

Another haulage business has gone under.
Another haulage business has gone under.

Lancashire-based RP Bulk Haulage Ltd has entered Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation, adding another name to an increasingly difficult year for businesses operating across the UK transport and freight sector.

The company, based in Whalley, Clitheroe, was incorporated in September 2024 and specialised in the transportation of bulk aggregates. Liquidators were appointed on 4 September 2026, with the insolvency notice published in The London Gazette on 9 September.

For creditors, suppliers and businesses still waiting for payment, the question now is simple:

WHERE IS YOUR MONEY?

A Young Business. A Sudden Collapse.

RP Bulk Haulage had only been trading for around two years before entering liquidation.

The company's stated business involved the transportation of bulk aggregates and providing transport solutions across the country. Its operator licence records show that it had been authorised to operate vehicles and trailers from an operating centre in Nelson.

The latest available financial information recorded by K2 Partners showed approximately £40,000 in assets and net liabilities of £22,000 as at September 2025.

Importantly, those figures pre-date the liquidation and should not be treated as the company's final financial position.

But for anyone owed money, the bigger issue is what happens now.

LIQUIDATION CHANGES EVERYTHING

When a company enters Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation, a liquidator takes control of the company's affairs and assets.

The objective is to realise whatever assets are available and distribute funds to creditors according to the statutory order of priority.

For unsecured creditors, that can mean an uncertain recovery.

And that's where businesses can make a costly mistake.

They assume the money is gone.

It isn't necessarily that simple.

The fact that a company has entered liquidation does not automatically mean every potential recovery avenue has disappeared.

The circumstances surrounding the debt need to be examined.

HAULAGE FAILURES HAVE A KNOCK-ON EFFECT

A haulage company doesn't operate alone.

It sits inside a much wider commercial chain.

Fuel suppliers.

Vehicle repair businesses.

Tyre companies.

Parts suppliers.

Construction businesses.

Manufacturers.

Subcontractors.

Professional service providers.

Customers waiting for deliveries.

When one business fails, the financial impact can travel far beyond the company itself.

Recent insolvency listings show RP Bulk Haulage among a number of transport businesses entering liquidation during September 2026. Other haulage and transport companies, including Davis-Wright Haulage Ltd, have also entered liquidation during the same period.

For creditors, that is a warning:

DON'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE.

THE BIGGEST MISTAKE CREDITORS MAKE

Waiting.

Waiting for the debtor to call.

Waiting for an explanation.

Waiting for a promised payment.

Waiting for the liquidator.

Waiting until the debt becomes old.

By then, valuable information may be harder to obtain and recovery options may be more limited.

Debt recovery is not just about chasing an invoice.

It's about understanding the debtor, identifying the available information, establishing what can realistically be recovered and taking the appropriate action.
